Webb30 nov. 2024 · Big Game works well with 120's too. With the 140's I'd look at Varget, H4350 (if you can find it), IMR 8208 XBR (great all around powder for the 7mm-08), or RL-15 or 16. The latest powder I've been using is the IMR 4166 and it's excellent. Supposed to replicate Varget and in my experience it really does.

Ramshot data shows a max of 56.2 with a 168 grain Barnes TTSX for a velocity of 2,870 fps with a 24 inch barrel. Ramshot data is usually spot on in my experience. If you like Ramshot try Big Game or, even better, Hunter (all ramshot powders are ball and meter great). Other good choices would be IMR 4350 (does not meter as well) or RL-19.
