FYI it's the official recommendation, not just blah blah from people here: Plug directly into a wall outlet, not into a power strip or surge protector.

Does your xbox work, if not i have had this problem once usually during a power surge, try unplugging the "pwer brick" from the outlet and let it sit for about 1 minute. This could be a console problem with the fuse being burned out (highly unlikely) or rather that the brick or console have overheated and need to sit.
