To adjust: Leave the pedal at the rest position. Pull the switch all the way until it touches the pedal. Press pedal. Adjust 1 or 2 extra clicks towards the pedal. Done. There will be a nut on either side of the switch that allows for adjusting the switch plunger. The switch is normally closed and held open by the brake pedal.
